UNUSUAL GESTURE
Chris Stone, one of the released American soldiers addressed a letter of gratitude to the Serbian guards in the prison where he had spent some twenty days. We enclose the original text of the letter.
CYNISM REVISED
As it was noted by all the analysts and in the media, Madeleine Albright the US Secretary of State has the most prominent role of all the creators, advisors, organizers, prompters and fawns involved in NATO aggression on FR Yugoslavia. Her passion for bombing FR Yugoslavia could hardly be hidden under the transparent phrases such as "humanitarian intervention" or "prevention of ethnic Albanian refugees humanitarian catastrophe" Madeleine was once a refugee, too. She told her story of suffering to an American TV station, and in fluent Serbian it went something like this: "When the Nazis occupied Czechoslovakia, my father run away to Yugoslavia with his wife and baby. I was the baby. I will never forget the warm welcome we received there as the people who needed help. After more than a month of violent destruction of Yugoslavia, one could say, with an average dose of cynicism "forget it Madeleine, forget if you can!" Right in the middle of undeclared NATO aggression on FR Yugoslavia Madeleine remembered her Serbian again and in the language of the people who saved her life and offered hospitality once she said, "we are not in the war with Serbian people". Judging by that logic more that 500 Serbian civilians killed by NATO bombs so far are not real either. For those who press buttons on their computers from long distance or high altitude, this war in the skies and on the ground of Yugoslavia is not real. For them it is a video game with virtual casualties and losses. In all the rallies against the aggression, Yugoslav people remember Mrs. Albright and the time when, under the name of Miss Korbel, she spent some time during 1939 as our guest and a fellow sufferer in Vrnjacka Banja.
